Jedna noc, jeden bar. Ospalý večírek herců po představení naruší návštěva nezvaného hosta. Atmosféra čpí zbabělostí, vodkou a houstne spolu s přibývajícími oblaky cigaretového dýmu. Charaktery se lámou… Černá komedie Okupace režiséra Michala Nohejla zaujala při srpnové premiéře vizuálně vytříbeným stylem i sugestivní náladou, mezinárodní uvedení ji čeká 18. listopadu na áčkovém filmovém festivalu Black Nights v Tallinnu. Nedílnou součástí snímku je vtahující hudební doprovod, na kterém se podíleli zejména členové Kill the Dandies! Soundtrack ke snímku Okupace vychází 26. listopadu v podobě dvojitého LP. Limitovaná edice obsahuje kromě dvou barevných vinylů také unikátní plakát podepsaný herci a vstupenku na křest.

Filmový soundtrack ke snímku Okupace uvedla v rámci premiéry snímku pilotní píseň How to Hold a Gun. „Původním zadáním byl koncept vycházející z ruské lidové skladby Kaťuša. Nápad ale prošel mnoha změnami, zejména když jsme začali hlouběji pronikat do příběhu a estetiky filmu. Podle mého by tyhle věci neměly mít klasickou logiku. Mám rád, když jsou významy skryté a objevují se nahodile,“ říká člen skupiny Hank J. Mancini a zpěvačka La Petite Sonja ho doplňuje: „Píseň je o nevyrovnaném vztahu mladšího a staršího bratra. Ani jsme netušili, jak moc bude z hlediska současného dění aktuální.“ Předprodej alba bude spuštěn 5. listopadu, spolu s uvedením singlu The River. K němu La Petite Sonja dodává: „Píseň The River je částečnou parafrází zmiňované Kaťuši, která se tak do filmu nakonec dostala. Originální ruská píseň je o naději a všemocné lásce k vlasti. Ta naše je temná balada o smrti, která se neslituje ani nad nejčistšími city.“

Na soundtracku se objevuje pilotní skladba snímku How to Hold a Gun hned ve třech verzích, včetně ruské, kterou zpívá ukrajinský herec Alexej Gorbunov, představitel opilého důstojníka sovětské armády. Kromě této a dalších písní Kill the Dandies! kolekce obsahuje také skladby skupin Madhouse Express, Metronome Blues, Old Folks House, Thee Lazy Eyes, Rán Těla nebo Beps’n’Johnnies. Scénickou hudbu ke snímku složili La Petite Sonja a Hank J. Mancini pod hlavičkou projektu Disco Ocultista. Jejich pozoruhodně vzdušné a dotažené skladby tvoří více než polovinu kolekce. Hank J. Mancini k tomu dodává: „Režisér Michal Nohejl pracuje podobným stylem jako my. Velmi intuitivně a spontánně, s podivně zvráceným smyslem pro humor a jistou neúctou k autoritám, ale zároveň s okouzlením klasickou estetikou.“ Hudba podobně jako snímek samotný ignoruje notoricky zmiňovanou normalizační šeď a nabízí k ní magickou, působivou a barevnou alternativu. Odboj, jaký svět neviděl.

One night, one bar. A sleepy theater afterparty is disrupted by an uninvited guest. Cowardliness and vodka are in the air. Things are getting blurry as the cloud of cigarette smoke gets bigger. Characters are breaking. Black comedy Okupace was directed by Michal Nohejl and it impressed Czech movie fans thanks to its classy style and suggestive mood. International audience will have a chance to see the movie for the first time on November 18th at the Black Nights festival in Tallinn. Okupace is accompanied by immersive music that was written by the members of Kill the Dandies! band. Original soundtrack will be released on double LP on November 26th. Apart from two colored vinyl discs the limited edition will contain a unique poster signed by actors and a release party ticket.

The release of original soundtrack was announced during the premiere where the lead single How to Hold a Gun was played. “Originally we were told to make a remake of Russian folk song Kaťuša. But we’ve changed and developed the idea many times as we were getting deeper to the point and aesthetics of the movie, that we’ve ended up with a whole new song. In my opinion these things shouldn't adhere to obvious logic. I like it when the meaning is hidden and you can decode it only by a chance,” Hank J. Mancini told about the creative process behind this soundtrack. Singer La Petite Sonja added: “The song is about a turbulent relationship between two brothers. We didn't even realize how much the topic corelates with thing we deal with in society today." Presale of the album will start on November 5th along with the premiere of second single The River. La Petite Sonja adds: “Song The River is partially a paraphrase to forementioned Kaťuša. The original Russian song is about hope a almighty love to homeland. The version of ours i a dark ballad about death, which has no mercy to even the purest of feelings.”

The album includes the lead single How to Hold a Gun in three versions including the Russian one. It is sang by ukrainian actor Alexej Gorbunov who plays a drunk Russian officer in the movie. Apart from Kill the Dandies! you can hear bands like Madhouse Express, Metronome Blues, Old Folks House, Thee Lazy Eyes, Rány těla or Beps'n'Johnnies on the record. However, more than half of material was written by La Petite Sonja and Hank J. Mancini who cooperate under project Disco Ocultista. Hank says: “Director Michal Nohejl works in very similar way as we do. Very intuitive and spontaneous, with weirdly twisted sense of humor and disrespect to authorities, at the same time charmed by a very classic aesthetics.” The music as same as the movie itself ignores the usual description of normalization and offers a magical, impressive and colorful alternative. It's a revolt you haven't seen yet.
